Epistme

Epistemic status: This is an experiment whose rationale I wanted to write down really quick.
Some people on the internet do epistemic statuses for their blogs. Boom boom boom. I like the idea a lot. I want to be able to write things without having huge amounts of confidence in/effort spent on/development on them, so being able to describe these things (and the reasons why I have that much) is a good thing.
I’m just going to describe it. I think that makes the most sense to people. I had categories visible for like a day and I didn’t like it. It felt too cluttered. But I will track these categories anyway, when I feel like it:
- Confidence: How much do I believe in this? Additionally, if it’s about something subjective, how much do I believe it applies to other people?
- Development: How long have I been thinking about it?
- Effort: How much effort did I spend writing about it for this note?
Maybe I will add importance as a category later. I don’t know whether I want to say how important something is.
This is an experiment! I’ll see how I feel about it later. I also won’t add them if it doesn’t make sense to (like lists of posts) or if it adds too much friction to me getting it out there. I hope it doesn’t though.
