Website Design

Epistemic status: These are the things I value! You probably do too! This is just dot points for now though.
The way I see it, there’s 3 things you need to keep in mind when you make your website:
- People can access your website
- It’s (relatively) easy to put stuff on your website
- The stuff on your website is some definition of good
People can access your website
People here talk a lot about web accessibility and it’s good that people are talking about it, because it means people do it. You should be adding alt text to images and using semantic HTML. It shouldn’t be broken on mobile.
It’s (relatively) easy to put stuff on your website
You’re making a website. You want to post on it, right? Make it as simple as possible.
The stuff on your website is some definition of good
By this I mainly mean: it’s not AI slop, it’s not done for search engine optimisation, it’s not an ad. You can want to be seen, sure,
good doesn’t mean polished it just means not seo/ai slop
